Having an abortion is a deeply personal decision. Although well-intentioned, if your friends and family members are aware of your unplanned pregnancy, they invariably share their opinions. It’s critical to remember that this decision is yours and yours alone. Don’t let others pressure you to choose one option over another.

Is Abortion Right for Me?

Only you know what’s best for your future. It’s essential to know that abortion does come with specific side effects and potential physical and emotional risks. Although we do not perform or refer for abortion, one of our nurses can give you the facts about procedures, side effects, and possible risks.

At the Pregnancy Resource Center, our pregnancy services are free. We gain nothing financially if you choose abortion or any other option.

Talking With Friends and Family

Sometimes, you just have to set boundaries. Let friends and family know you appreciate their input, but the final decision is yours alone.

No one can legally force you to make one decision over another, and likewise, no one should pressure you either. If your friends and family want to support you, tell them what they can do.

For instance, encourage a trusted friend or family member to attend a free pregnancy services appointment with you at the Pregnancy Resource Center.

We provide free pregnancy testing appointments. If your test is positive, you can receive a free ultrasound, which determines if your pregnancy is growing or if you have had a miscarriage. You also learn how far along you are and if the location of your pregnancy is correct. If it isn’t, it could cause a life-threatening health issue.

In addition, we test for STIs. Many sexually transmitted infections have no symptoms, but left untreated, they can cause serious complications, especially with an abortion.

What Are My Other Options?

You actually have three options for your pregnancy: having an abortion, making an adoption plan, or choosing to parent. Learn as much as possible about your options before talking with others. Friends and family will be less likely to add pressure if they know you’ve done your research.

Free, Confidential Assistance

It’s more important to have confidence that you are making the right choice for yourself than to have the approval of others. Set boundaries, talk with one of our nurses, and choose for yourself.

We’re here to help. You can conveniently and confidentially request an appointment online, call us at (970) 945-5562, or text (970) 707-8325. Contact us today!
